Mandatory Therapy
What is the purpose of therapy? It's not to investigate, it is to heal, to get a deeper understanding of who you are, your desires, your passions, your purpose...
I like psychology. I mentioned it before that I am really good with people in one on one off the record setting. I understand their struggle, I try not to judge, I try to relate and emphasize no matter what it is they are going through and no matter who they are.
When I was little I contemplated the possibility of the profession where I'd be helping people talk their emotions and struggles through to help them lift their spirit and let go of anything that may be holding them back. But it takes a long time to get to know a person, it takes time to gain their trust, and in Ukraine it was not considered to be a profession. It was a backup plan as the majority of the theories are hypothetical and are subject to interpretation, so anyone with the desire could pass the test.
Therapy is only helpful if you are truly trying to help the person you are talking to without judgement. Therapy is not about what you want to talk about, it's about what the other being that is there in front of you needing your help with.
What happens when the therapy is mandatory? Therapists are human. We all see movies with therapists writing therapy notes. Why do they write the notes and what are those notes? Originally the notes were to help the therapist remember what you said so they can come back to it later and explore what they think is the holdup for your dilemma. Further on during the course of the evolution of our government, the Courts realized that therapy notes can tell you the deep secrets of the being, they further realized that therapy notes can be used against the individual and it is my understanding that this is how therapy became mandatory in so many fields.
Even thought I see it as important tool in helping a person survive trauma not every therapist can relate to every human and it takes a long time to get to know someone who did not voluntarily come to you. It is my believe that when therapy is simply surrounded around one matter it has very little purpose as unless you get to know the person for who they are you will not be able to understand where they stand in relation to the event in question.
During this last DFPS case, I was sent to the mandatory therapy. DFPS says that this therapy is designed to help a person deal with the ongoing trauma (that they have created). In reality DFPS ordered therapy is led by the Case Worker's agenda and the therapists are simply made to investigate the removal and try to support DFPS allegations based on anything their investigator wrote in the initial removal affidavit.
I have to keep reminding you. We are all human. Humans lie, make mistakes, forget and for them to say that they remember clearly something that happened years ago it is a white lie that causes severe damage in everyday human life. I could not swear on my life everything I lived through and I think I remember. Was it red or blue? Did it smell or didn't. Did I hear, or I think I heard. I would never want to bet on anything I supposedly remember. That is what the film is for. Record it. Guess what! Not a single recording of the removal was shown in this case.
Humans make notes on their little laptops, submit it to the DFPS and it's taken as a fact of who you are. Even the people I like put one-two phrases in their notes that got me hung. I told my husband during this trial: "This feels like a real life hang-man game."
In my plain and simple opinion the therapist that says you failed - failed as a therapist. None of my therapists said that, yet... their words were interpreted as that, their phrases were interpreted as a fact of my "non compliance". I tried to comply, but when someone asks you to go against your beliefs - you get to choose to live in fear or to stand up for what's important to you, stand up for who you are. Throughout the Bible God asks many people to make hard choices, to sacrifice all you have to test your faith in divine purpose.
The divine purpose to me is to continue to be kind. I am not a Judge, I am not here to prosecute people and to spread pain and suffering. I am here to spread kindness and love, to stand up to the bullies of our generation and to do what I think the right thing to do is.
We do have to Judge sometimes, Judges have a very tough job, but...you have to always judge with the kindness in your heart, because God gives us all a chance after a chance after a chance to become who we are meant to be: kind living continuations of the divine with free will to enjoy our lives and multiple possibilities for improvement.
During this trial I was prosecuted based on the therapy notes of the DFPS providers. Our attorneys made objections after objections, but...the fact remains: I am not therapy notes. I did not write those therapy notes. I don't know what most of them say. And those therapy notes definitely do not define who I am.
We need to fight for DFPS reform. We need to stand up for parental rights every time we get a chance for every matter and every cause on the matter. It is enough destroying the fabric of our society and the fabric of humanity as a whole.
Parents are not notes. We are human beings and our children deserve to be with and be raised by their parents. Support Innocent Tears Act and DFPS reform!
